Top 5 Worst Casting Choices for Spider-Man Reboot
Update: Logan Lerman from Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been rumored to play Spider-Man in the reboot, but both he and his camp are denying the rumors. We all know how this usually goes and anything is possible at this point.
When news broke that Spider-Man 4 wasn’t going to happen and that Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire were out, I was more than a little shocked. After all, the studios kept telling us that it was going to shoot soon and that things were going swimmingly after the numerous rewrites. I was sad then, but I’m terrified now. They want to put Spider-Man back in high school to “open up the creative possibilities.” “Like O-M-G Peter!” What’s a Spidey fan like me to do at this moment? Since there’s nothing we can do, let’s take a look at the top 5 worst candidates for the web-slinger’s role.
1. Zac Effron.
Why He’s a Bad Choice: He might have the looks, but the guy simply can’t act. I appreciate how much effort he puts into his movies but he lacks the talent to carry such a demanding role. That, and everyone will be yelling “High School Musical!” during the previews.
2. Taylor Lautner.
Why He’s a Bad Choice: If Columbia Pictures somehow rewrote it so that Spider-Man never wore a shirt, I could see this appealing at least to young females. Alas, it’s not the case. We’ve already seen (those of us with girlfriends) how bad New Moon was with Lautner trying to carry a movie.
3. Justin Chatwin.
Why He’s a Bad Choice: The guy destroyed the Dragon Ball franchise after just one movie, so let him do the same with Spider-Man? At least Tobey will appreciate how much better Chatwin makes him look.
4. Zack and Cody.
Why He’s a Bad Choice: If you want to see Spider-Man in high school, look no further than the acting you get with Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Seriously. You might as well hire the talent from that show too.
5. Shia Labeouf.
Why He’s a Bad Choice: With Indiana Jones and Transformers already under his belt, Labeouf needs just one more franchise to destroy. This movie is damned either way – at least we’ll be able to blame someone for it.
I sincerely hope that none of the above are ever chosen, but hey, in Hollywood where it’s money over substance, I wouldn’t be surprised.
You are a dooshbag. talor lautner is the hottest guy I have ever seen in my life, I thought he was before I have ever seen his shirt off I bet he is smart I already know he is funny and he has and he has a great personality he is good not bad oh and lets compare robert with the hot and awesome taylor lautner, um.. ya what do you think he is the best choice to make for a celebrity and regular guy sure he likes being in front of the camra but really think what he can be inside a nice warm person that actully cares and btw i hate robert pattison because he is intappropriate and unexeptible for any one. I used to like him but i looked through roberts and taylors pictures and guess what I saw him being iresponsible unfunny unthinking unappropriate and ugly you may think he is a good guy never would cheat on you if you think that you are wrong you know bella from twilight aka kristen stewert robert cheated on her ya i bet you think in the movie remeber me oh he just acting no he is doing this for real you know bella she smokes and thats problebly why she has bags under her eyes taylor lautner is the best person you can find in that trio he is the best im not just saying that because I like him its because he rules because he is nice,smart,funny,talented,nice,buff,cool,outgoing,daring,cute,honest,regular and sharing and team Jacob rules support Talor Lautner and thank you for your time.Oh and Taylor did nothing wrong.
Whatever gave away that fact had nothing to do with the fact you can’t spell douche bag and lots of run on sentences. Another thing that pointed out that you are a brainwashed twitard is all you did was ramble about the cast of twilight and their personal life. You insulted the author on the basis that he was wrong for labeling lautner as an incompetent candidate for the spiderman reboot film. Another thing that stuck out like sore thumb is the 20+ paragraph dedicated to lautner about his good looks and his shirtlessness, his interpersonal relationships with his co-actors, how Robert pattison is ugly who cheated on the smoking kristen Stewart. The final annoyance was the entourage of adjectives you left behind to describe lautner. It’s sad how you never mention why lautner would be a worthy candidate for the spiderman reboot. Sure he has good looks, but a little too much to fit peter parker’s nerdy persona. Plus he’s too tan. You make the rest of twilight fans like me appear to be shallow and ignorant. I wonder if you even read the series?
I think it’s implied that team Jacob supports lautner. Who else would they be freaking supporting? Balto?
